Stamp: *Andreas Dörfler***
Round stick, silver winding, silver mounted, nice select pernambuco
This bow has a silky, graceful character. The higher register is buttery and luminous, the lower register rich and honeyed. In quick passages, this bow is easy to maneuver - it readily grips the string for clear attacks. String crossings feel effortless, and the balance of the bow is grounding. In lyrical passages, this bow pulls out an incredible resonance - the strings feel as if they are glowing. There is a lovely smoothness that carries across all four strings. This bow would work well with any cello, but it particularly likes a mellow instrument - it adds a beautiful shimmer to a darker tone.
For more than three generations, the Dörfler family has manufactured string bows of superior craftsmanship based on the style of the French bow maker Tourte. Andreas, Roland and Tanja Dörfler continue with this master tradition in the fourth generation. - Dörfler Workshop
