This lovely instrument has been played in nicely, giving it a nice open tone that’s present across its entire range. It is responsive and easy to play, allowing the player to take advantage of its tone and craft it to their liking. The low range is full and woody, providing a lot of core to the sound. The upper range is bright and colorful, giving the player a large palette of tone colors to play with. Projection isn’t an issue with this instrument as it can easily fill a room and reach the back of a large performance space. This cello is ideal for a player looking to tackle more demanding repertoire at a collegiate or professional level. This utterly unique instrument has a a one-piece back piece of gorgeous, birdseye maple, and highly figured birdseye maple ribs to match.
The Calin Wultur Workshop is a smaller group of string instrument makers in Reghin, Romania, led by Calin Wultur. Each cello is crafted from aged Carpathian maple and spruce and carefully graduated for tone in the classical, traditional way – by hand with the help of modern tools. All of the woods used are carefully selected and cut by the workshop staff and properly seasoned. The finishing touch of a hand-applied German spirit varnish completes the instrument. The workshop's new master luthier, B. Koscielny, has added further expertise to the Wultur shop and is bringing the quality of Calin Wultur instruments to new heights.

Buying a Cello Online from Linda West Cellos
All of our cellos (except for those on consignment or mezzo-forte instruments) come with a 14-day trial period. Once you receive your new cello, play it for 2 weeks, and if it's not "the one", contact us to discuss a return or replacement. Shipping costs back to us are the buyer's responsibility. Please see our FAQs for complete details.
Most cellos will come with a case and a bow. If you are shopping from a distance, Linda will select the most compatible bow for your cello by playing the instrument and trying out several bows. As for cases, most cellos will come with a standard hard case, which really depends on the availability. We often use Eastman CACL28 or CACL18 cases as our standard case. For more expensive instruments that are noted as coming with a lightweight hardcase, this also depends on what we have in stock, and what your chosen instrument will fit into. We usually are selecting from Gewa Air, Otto Musica, Eastman or Century Strings cases in the $1,000 - $1,400 price range. We usually give you a couple options of case and color.
