Rich and velvety, this Emiliani practically purrs under your hands. Beautifully balanced across all registers and octaves, she is neither too bright or too dark....just right. The C string is strong, but not overbearing. The A is both lyrical and broad, with a warm, colorful timbre. A very responsive cello with plenty of dynamic range to express yourself. The top plate has ideal grain spacing; very tight towards the center, spreading out towards the flanks. Beautifully varnished with tasteful antiquing.
Always shop favorites, Eastman's top of the line Raul Emilianis tend to be easy to play with a smooth, rich tone. Oil varnished, they will play in slowly, reaching tonal maturity in a couple years. Sounding great, even when freshly crafted, they will only get better and better with play time. Don't wait, we rarely hang onto these for very long and only get a few each year.
