Stamped with the number 1097 under the frog. Rodney D. Mohr on the stick above the frog, and Rodney D Mohr under the winding continuing onto the visible portion of the stick with Mohr visible.
Octagonal stick, weight 80.1gm, balance 9 1/2", Tip Armor artificial tip. Perfect weight and balance in combination with a strong stick with even straight grain. Made from select Pernambuco this cello bow performs with smooth precision. The feel through out the length of this bow's stroke is steady and its tonal quality is clear and rich. It can snap off the string and also pulls a clear present tone with the absolute lightest touch.
Rodney has won 20 awards in international competitions. After winning his third gold medal with the Violin society of America, he is no longer eligible to compete and has earned the title of Hors’ Concours. He was awarded his Hors’ Concours Certificate at the 19th Violin Society Competition and Convention in Cleveland, OH on November 11, 2010. Rodney served as a bow workmanship judge for the VSA International Competition in Portland, Oregon in 2008. In 1999, he received third prize for a bass bow in the 2nd Concours International de Paris.
