Lamy, Alfred b. 1886, d. 1922

Probably crafted around 1920. Nephew of Joseph Alfred Lamy, Alfred Lamy died prematurely at the age of 36, but left behind an impressive number of high-quality bows that recall the work of Charles Louis Bazin. Lamy studied with the Bazin family in Mirecourt before going to work for Eugène Cuniot-Hury in 1906, where he stayed until around 1911. By 1919-20 his own personal brand, "A. Lamy" or "Alfred Lamy" begins to appear, suggesting that he was working independently. In 1921 he began to work for Marc Laberte, but his employment there did not last very long, and he died the following year.
