This punchy bow make projection easy as its tone is focused and bright. It is able to pull a lot of sound out without having to work much. When dialed back it become delicate, allowing the cello to sing nicely while adding color to the sound. Spicatto is no problem for this bow as it bounces nicely producing crisp articulations. This bow is ideal for warm cellos that need help pulling more sound out while still maintaining the warmth of the sound. In the hand this bow feels smooth to play, allowing for a consistent contact point.
Vanderson Schaeffer, son of Floriano Schaeffer decided to enter the family business of bow making, following in his father's footsteps. Schaeffer learned bow making techniques from his father and continued on to study briefly with Pierre Guillaume of Brussels. He currently works for the Brazilian firm Arcos Brasil as one of their top bow makers and is responsible for making many of their special edition bows and master copies.
