Arcus P-Series bows - Finally a bow that allows to pull all the fascinating sounds out of your viola that have been hiding because other bows were just too weak. The response of the C-string is much easier, off-string bowings are easy to do, the sound is neither nasal or noise, but strong and clear and carries beautiful. The Arcus viola bows do indeed work wonders on modern violas.
Wooden bows are not able to cope with modern strings and current setups. Their stick is too soft while they are too heavy to allow for an easy and elegant playing.
With an Arcus you can play more with increased intensity, and equally delicate and powerful. The weight is similar to a light violin bow and can be played with comparable nimbleness.
The tension of the strings of large violas (16“ body length and over) is quite high. For those we make the P-bows with a stick of high resiliency. For smaller violas we recommend the M-bows.
Comes in Round Stick only. 57-60 grams
About classifications:
Our basic class-3 bows will already outperform pretty much
every other composite bow. The class-4 bows are a match for
very high quality wood bows. The finest wood bows we have ever
experienced in competition with an Arcus bow could sometimes
equal a class-5, but rarely a class-6 bow. The 7- to 9-category
bows pull a sound sweeter and more powerful than anything else
ever put to a string.
P-Series are available in 4-9 class.
