These cellos have a very even and stable temperament, rarely posing issues like pesky wolf tones. Unaffected by extreme climate changes and impervious to water, these are great instruments for those who have to deal with everything from outdoor performances to long periods of traveling. Three years of intensive research and development have produced an absolutely stunning carbon fiber cello. The difference between the Pure and the Core Line is that the Pure is not lacquered, but is instead polished.
This cello is setup with a set of Versum strings. If you would like a hard case, contact us before you order the cello.

The response comes without resistance. You start the note and it is there, in pianissimo, on the C string, on a cold morning. Doing and feeling sit closer together than you are used to, and that is the point where any hesitation goes.
The tone is warm and singing, with a wealth of overtones that leaves room for shaping. High on the A string it turns lyrical and radiant, and the instrument responds sensitively to bow speed and contact point. It does not saturate when you really give it everything.
What it is made of
Carbon fiber is pure carbon, drawn into filaments seven thousandths of a millimetre across. A material that was reserved for aerospace for decades. We build violins from it.

Buying a Cello Online from Linda West Cellos
All of our cellos (except for those on consignment or mezzo-forte instruments) come with a 14-day trial period. Once you receive your new cello, play it for 2 weeks, and if it's not "the one", contact us to discuss a return or replacement. For best results during your trial period, we recommend putting your current instrument away and playing only the trial instrument for the full 2 weeks. This allows you to properly adjust to the new instrument's muscle memory, voice and characteristics without constant comparison.
All trial returns must be coordinated with Linda West Cellos prior to arranging shipping. We will provide specific packing instructions and monitor weather conditions along the shipping route. Instruments or bows shipped back without authorization may not be eligible for refund if damaged. Shipping costs back to us are the buyer's responsibility.

Most cellos will come with a case and a bow. If you are shopping from a distance, Linda will select the most compatible bow for your cello by playing the instrument and trying out several bows. As for cases, most cellos will come with a standard hard case, which really depends on the availability. For more expensive instruments that are noted as coming with a lightweight hard case, this also depends on what we have in stock, and what your chosen instrument will fit into. We usually are selecting from Gewa Air, Otto Musica, BAM or Musilia cases in the $1,000 - $1,400 price range. We usually give you a couple options of case and color.
We know that purchasing a cello online takes an incredible amount of trust, knowledge, and information. Therefore, we go the extra mile to make sure that you have as much information about your future cello soulmate as we can possibly provide.
